Lille, 3 November 2017 – The joint association ”La Fibre Numérique 59/62” on Friday 3 November announced the commercial launch of the first phase of fibre roll-out in rural areas. As part of the concession contract concluded with THD 59-62, around 11,000 homes can now be connected to the network and will benefit from superfast broadband as of November.

With the public project now at the end of its first year, phase one of the fibre roll-out is set to come on stream. The contract involves bringing fibre coverage to all premises (homes and businesses) in rural areas of the Nord and Pas-de-Calais departments by the end of 2021.

So far, a total of 10,800 homes across 21 municipalities have access to the fibre network.
